The Hard Ride...

So late at night while I was browsing my Netflix on demand I just popped in some words and I ran into "The Hard Ride" from 1971... This movie isn't the greatest but the knucklehead chop and the riding scenes more than make up for it. There are also other cool bikes in this flick as well... Check it out if ya can...

You'll notice right away that the star of the movie is "Baby"...

Here is baby

Cant forget about the brothers from NYC...

Cant forget that the brothers especially up in my hometown of NYC love to ride. Here is a cool trailer of an upcoming documentary that a friend worked on.

Notice the samples of some good HipHop...

A little gantry...

So a buddy has a 51 chevy that he is swaping the frame on. Here is a home made gantry crane with chain lift taking the body off the frame.

I needed gloves cause this thing is one tetanus shot away from a bad day...

Motor is in...

Well after a few days of ripping out the old motor and putting in the new and tuning it its safe to say I dont want to look at a wrench for a while.

Here is the sound of the old tired motor:

Here is the old motor still in and about to be worked on to be removed:

Here is the old 350 being yanked out:

Here is the new 355 on the stand freshly painted and about to put on a new oil pan gasket:

Here she is installed and ready to be fired:

And this is what the new motor sounds like:

New motor specs:

Balanced 355
Camshaft: Lunati.490/.490 lift
Heads: Port & Polished 202 valves
Fuel: 600cfm edelbrock
Intake: Perfromer edelbrock
Exhaust: Long tube headers with FlowMaster turndowns

There is some more but that is all I can think of now.

Grab it by the wheel...

After doin all this work and now finally being able to drive the 69 until I put the new motor in over the next week or so I felt something was missing. I kept the old steering wheel but just restored it a bit with some new paint... It just didn't make me feel like I was driving something with any balls... So I decided to call Grant up and get a nice new wheel...

Removed the old one:

And after modifying the existing horn switch to let the steering hub fit correctly I now have this:

Clampin...

So I have had this issue with my rear pipe for a while and just been lazy and cheap... To find good exhaust clamps like the ones I use are either really pricey or I can't find them... So instead I will just modify...

Here is the clamp in question:

Removed for modification:

Cut about 1/4 inch out that sumbitch:

Welded back together and back on the bike:

Now you can jack the bike up from this pipe...

Anotha fix the shit yoself from Joe's Jalopies
